Job Summary The Storeroom Attendant, Laborer is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory of materials, spare parts, tools, and supplies that support mill operations. This role ensures inventory accuracy, material availability, and efficient storeroom operations while supporting maintenance and production reliability. Through effective inventory control and customer service, the Storeroom Attendant, Laborer, contributes directly to operational efficiency and cost control. Essential Functions Inventory Management & Control Receive, verify, and process incoming materials and inventory transactions. Maintain accurate inventory records within inventory management systems. Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventories. Identify and report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, and stock shortages. Support inventory optimization through stock rotation and disposition of obsolete materials. Material Distribution & Logistics Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient storeroom environment. Ensure materials are properly labeled and stored. Maintain documentation related to inventory transactions and material movements. Follow established inventory control procedures and standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives within storeroom operations. Storeroom Operations Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient storeroom environment. Support continuous improvement initiatives within storeroom operations. Safety & Operational Support Follow all company safety, environmental, and operational procedures. Promote safe material handling and storage practices. Communicate replenishment needs and inventory concerns to appropriate stakeholders. Support procurement and vendor delivery activities. Assist with special projects and operational support activities as needed, other duties as assigned Education High school diploma/GED required Minimum Requirements 2+ years of experience in warehouse, storeroom, inventory control, material handling, or related industrial operations. Knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical components. Experience using inventory management, ERP, or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) inventory management systems. Experience supporting industrial manufacturing, pulp and paper, or similar heavy industrial operations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing slips, inventory reports, and related documentation. Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. Current forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within the designated training period. Environment and Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and industrial equipment. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required to support operational needs. Occasional need to work alone and in collaboration with other mill employees (ex: egg carton) Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse operations
