Store Manager - Retail

Duties Lead and motivate the retail sales team to meet and exceed sales targets through effective coaching, training, and performance management. Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product presentation and availability. Oversee daily store operations including cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) system management, and cashier supervision to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Implement purchasing strategies and pricing policies aligned with company standards to maximize profitability. Conduct employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding processes to build a strong team foundation. Monitor operational procedures such as bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, and shift management to maintain smooth store functions. Foster excellent customer service by ensuring staff deliver friendly, professional assistance while handling escalated issues with confidence. Utilize management skills in supervising staff schedules, training & development initiatives, and maintaining organizational standards. Apply negotiation skills during vendor interactions and purchasing negotiations to secure favorable terms for the store. Maintain compliance with company policies and safety regulations while promoting a positive work environment. Experience Proven management experience in the retail industry with a focus on sales team leadership and operational oversight. Demonstrated ability in supervising staff through effective communication, team management, and leadership skills. Experience with inventory management systems, POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math calculations. Strong background in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development programs. Familiarity with budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping practices, and operational management principles. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively. Previous assistant manager or supervisory roles within retail stores are preferred; candidates should have a solid understanding of retail sales strategies and customer service excellence.
