Position Summary The Stockroom Lead is a working, hands-on supervisor responsible for leading the daily activities of both the stockroom and warehouse while actively participating in department operations. This role maintains accurate inventory control, organizes and directs stockroom and warehouse workflow, and ensures materials and parts are received, stored, picked, issued, staged, and delivered to the production floor in time to support the manufacturing schedule. The Stockroom Lead oversees stockroom and warehouse personnel and works closely with Planning, Purchasing, Production, and other departments to address shortages, resolve inventory discrepancies, prioritize material needs, coordinate inbound and outbound material flow, and keep work moving according to schedule. The successful individual leads by example, works alongside the team, and remains accountable for stockroom accuracy, responsiveness, safety, and 6S. The Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work alongside stockroom and warehouse employees as a hands-on, working supervisor, providing daily leadership while directly supporting receiving, stocking, picking, issuing, staging, shipping, material movement, and related departmental activities. Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection handoff, put-away, storage, staging, shipping, and movement of materials, while ensuring transactions and documentation are completed accurately and on time. Plan, assign, prioritize, and follow up on daily stockroom and warehouse work to ensure parts and materials are received, processed, stored, staged, and delivered to the production floor in accordance with manufacturing schedules and changing production priorities. Monitor material requirements, shortages, kit status, and stockroom queues; communicate risks promptly and coordinate with Planning, Purchasing, Production, and other departments to prevent avoidable schedule delays. Maintain inventory accuracy through disciplined receiving, labeling, location control, material transactions, cycle counting, physical inventory, reconciliation, and timely correction of discrepancies. Investigate inventory variances, missing parts, incorrect quantities, and transaction errors; identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure kits and material requests are complete, accurate, properly documented, and staged or delivered to the correct production area when needed. Train, schedule, direct, and support stockroom and warehouse personnel; set clear expectations, monitor workflow, and provide immediate coaching on procedures, quality, safety, accuracy, and productivity. Maintain orderly, secure, and efficient stockroom and warehouse areas using appropriate receiving, shipping, material handling, inventory control, traceability, FIFO, ESD, and other applicable requirements. Use the ERP system and supporting inventory tools to review demand, process transactions, track material movement, analyze shortages, and produce accurate inventory and audit reports.
