Stockroom Assistant

Are you detail-oriented with strong time-management and organizational skills? Sunrise Ground Equipment is seeking a dedicated full-time Stock Room Assistant to join our team. Duties Inventory Management: Conduct daily checks of stock (general hardware, raw steel materials, and kit parts for welding machines) to ensure adequate supply levels. Maintain accurate inventory records using basic computer software, scanning devices, and/or inventory control systems. Stock Replenishment: Assess stock levels and inform the Stock Room Manager which items need to be fabricated to keep levels consistent. Collaborate with the welding team to complete timely and accurate daily restocks of parts and equipment. Organization & Storage: Organize the stockroom storage areas and maintain a clean, tidy, and orderly environment, while facilitating easy access and optimal space utilization. Shipping & Receiving: Prepare orders for shipment and work with the Office Manager to procure outgoing shipping labels. Receive, unload, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies, reporting issues to supervisors as needed. Cleanliness & Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain the general cleanliness of the stockroom and shop floor, including proper handling of waste and cleaning equipment. Team Collaboration: Work closely with managers and other staff (e.g., welders, steel cutters, machinists) to ensure smooth operations across all departments. Other duties as required to include basic painting or kit assembly. Basic Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a warehouse setting is required Basic computer literacy is required Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel is preferred Good understanding of the English language, both verbal and written Strong attention to detail and time-management skills Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow Thrives in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally Reliable transportation to and from the shop located near JFK airport Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance Physically able to be on your feet during an entire shift (8–10 hrs), including walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
