Stocking Associate - Polar Express Train Ride

Overview We are seeking an efficient Stocking Associate to join our retail team. In early-November we create a temporary store supporting the Polar Express Train Rides at the California State Railroad Museum. Rides operate 6 evenings a week beginning in mid-November. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels, creating fill-in lists, and ensuring that Polar Express products are stocked and organized in our temporary store. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. We plan for this team member to be work three or four afternoons/evenings a week (likely 11-7pm), plus one 2-10pm shift each week. Weekends are required. This temporary position will last through the Christmas season. Responsibilities Efficiently stock tables and displays with Polar Express merchandise, ensuring that products are organized and accessible to customers. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels, memorizing back stock locations, and reporting discrepancies. Perform lifting as required to move products from their storage areas to the temporary store about 100 yards away, utilizing a hand truck and an electric cart. Provide bagging assistance at the register as needed. Maintain cleanliness in the stockroom and sales areas to create a welcoming shopping environment. May assist in the Museum Store packing internet orders as needed. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product location and answering questions about Polar Express merchandise. Collaborate with other associates to ensure a smooth workflow during busy periods. Experience Previous experience in a retail or warehouse environment is preferred. Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus. Ability to lift 5 and 10 pound boxes on a regular basis, then moving up to 50 pounds safely and efficiently utilizing a hand truck or an electric cart. Strong communication skills.
