The Antique CellarOverview Join The Antique Cellar as a Stock Associate and become an important part of our antique and vintage retail environment. In this role, you will help maintain an organized and welcoming store while ensuring that antique, vintage, and collectible items are carefully received, organized, displayed, and maintained. You will work closely with the team to keep merchandise properly arranged, assist customers in locating items, and ensure that the sales floor and storage areas remain clean, safe, and presentable. Because many of our items are unique, fragile, or one-of-a-kind, careful handling and attention to detail are essential. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with unique merchandise, has an interest in antiques and vintage items, and takes pride in maintaining an organized retail environment. Responsibilities Receive, unpack, move, and organize incoming antique, vintage, and collectible merchandise with appropriate care. Carefully handle fragile and valuable items, including furniture, glassware, ceramics, artwork, books, lighting, and other collectibles. Organize merchandise in the sales area and storage spaces to ensure items are easy to locate and safely accessible. Assist with inventory organization, item identification, labeling, pricing, and basic record keeping. Help prepare newly received merchandise for display and sale. Maintain attractive and organized displays while preserving the character and presentation of the store. Assist customers in locating merchandise and provide basic information about items when appropriate. Support sales and cashiering duties as needed. Keep display areas, storage spaces, aisles, and work areas clean and safe. Assist with moving and positioning furniture and other larger antique pieces within the store. Work with team members to reorganize displays and storage areas as new merchandise arrives. Report damaged, missing, or incorrectly labeled merchandise to management. Handle merchandise with care and follow appropriate procedures for protecting delicate or valuable items. Provide friendly and professional customer service to collectors, antique enthusiasts, and general shoppers. Qualifications Previous retail, stockroom, warehouse, antique store, or customer-service experience is an asset but not required. Genuine interest in antiques, vintage merchandise, collectibles, furniture, or historical objects is an advantage. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle fragile and valuable merchandise carefully and responsibly. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as as part of a small team. Comfortable performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, moving, and organizing merchandise. Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Basic computer skills for inventory and administrative tasks are an asset. Previous experience with inventory systems, POS systems, photography, or online merchandise listings is an advantage. Bilingual communication skills are an asset. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays when required.
