Steel Fabrication Shop Lead

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Structural Steel Fabrication Shop Lead to support our operations in the fabrication of high-quality structural steel components. Duties Support daily shop operations, ensuring production schedules are met efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Oversee production planning, coordinate materials, labor, and equipment for optimal workflow. Implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and streamline fabrication processes. Supervise and mentor shop personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability. Coordinate with supply chain teams to analyze logistics, manage inventory levels, and optimize supply chain management strategies for timely delivery of materials. Conduct quality control inspections throughout fabrication stages to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Utilize manufacturing analytics tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify bottlenecks, and develop strategies for operational excellence. Lead efforts in mechanical knowledge application, assembly processes, and plant management to improve overall shop performance. Experience Proven experience in production leading within a fabricating environment, preferably in structural steel or heavy fabrication industries. Demonstrated ability to implement lean manufacturing techniques and drive continuous process improvements. Knowledge of supply chain analytics, operations management, and supply chain management practices. Hands-on experience with quality control procedures, mechanical assembly, and process optimization in a manufacturing setting. Leadership skills with a track record of managing teams effectively while promoting safety and operational excellence. Mechanical knowledge relevant to structural steel fabrication processes is essential for understanding technical requirements and troubleshooting issues.
