Station Manager, Air & Ocean Freight

Lead an air-led freight forwarding station in Dallas, with responsibility for operational performance, people and the handover between forwarding and warehouse activities. The station also handles a smaller ocean import operation. This is an operational leadership appointment. The priorities are consistent service, effective supervision and the ability to address performance problems directly while keeping the station moving. Responsibilities Lead air freight operations and oversee the supporting ocean import activity. Coordinate forwarding, customer service and warehouse teams, with clear service and productivity expectations. Coach managers and supervisors, resolve operational issues and address individual and team performance. Review workloads, staffing, shipment exceptions and operating costs; take corrective action where needed. Maintain effective relationships with airlines, handling partners, trucking providers and overseas offices. Oversee applicable security, dangerous goods and customs procedures, and take ownership of customer escalations. Your experience Leadership experience within international freight forwarding, with substantial responsibility for air freight operations. Experience managing a station, branch or gateway with operational and people-management accountability. A practical understanding of cargo handling, warehouse productivity and the interface with forwarding operations. The judgment to manage competing priorities and support the station when service issues extend beyond normal office hours. Station Managers, Branch Managers and senior Air Freight Operations Managers with comparable responsibilities are relevant to this search.
