Stand Up Forklift Operator (1st shift & 2nd shift)

We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Stand-Up Forklift Operator to support production, inventory control, and shipping and receiving in our frozen food manufacturing facility. Company Overview: Founded in 1998 as a family-owned frozen food manufacturer in Los Angeles, California, Pegasus Foods expanded its operations to Rockwall, Texas. We combine automation with hand-formed production capabilities to manufacture frozen dough, appetizers, bakery products, and desserts for retail and foodservice customers through co-packing and private-label partnerships. Position Overview The Stand-Up Forklift Operator ensures ingredients, packaging, and finished products are safely and accurately moved throughout the warehouse and production areas. This position supports timely material delivery, proper allergen segregation, inventory accuracy, and efficient inbound and outbound shipments. Key Responsibilities Forklift Operation and Material Handling Safely operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts while maintaining awareness of employees, equipment, and surrounding conditions. Complete equipment safety inspections before use and promptly report damage, defects, or unsafe conditions. Keep forklifts properly stored, charged, clean, and ready for operation. Transport materials to and from designated warehouse, storage, and production locations. Stack and organize inventory safely and accurately. Load and unload trucks and place materials in their assigned locations. Follow company safety, food safety, allergen segregation, and material-handling procedures. Inventory Control Use RF scanners to record inventory movements and completed tasks. Maintain accurate inventory records and support warehouse inventory activities. Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against orders and shipping documents. Identify and report shortages, damage, quality concerns, and shipment discrepancies. Coordinate with production, procurement, and warehouse personnel to support material availability. Shipping and Receiving Complete inbound and outbound shipment processing. Prepare bills of lading (BOLs) and maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation. Update shipment information, daily appointment logs, and warehouse status boards. Coordinate driver check-in and warehouse traffic flow. Record driver arrival, departure, and dwell times. Distribute paperwork promptly between the warehouse floor and appropriate departments. Support shipment tracking, tracing, and data entry. Communicate shipment discrepancies by email and coordinate follow-up with the appropriate team. Perform other warehouse duties as assigned. Qualifications At least 1–2 years of experience operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts. Prior forklift certification preferred. Experience using RF scanners and inventory systems. Shipping and receiving experience in a cold storage environment, preferably in food or beverage manufacturing. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, inventory control, quality control, and lean manufacturing practices. Basic computer and email skills. Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and follow established procedures. Willingness to learn and adapt to operational needs. Physical and Work Environment Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to work in cold storage and frozen food manufacturing environments. Ability to regularly lift or move 20 pounds, frequently lift or move 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to stand for extended periods and kneel, squat, sit, and climb as required, with or without reasonable accommodation.
