Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Staff Strategic Buyer to lead non-inventory and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) purchasing. This role combines strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization with hands-on purchasing execution. The Buyer partners with internal stakeholders to anticipate business needs, improve purchasing processes, and ensure reliable, cost-effective delivery of supplies, equipment, and services. Key Responsibilities Lead all non-inventory and MRO purchases, aligning sourcing decisions with business needs, quality requirements, and cost objectives. Develop sourcing strategies, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery commitments. Build supplier relationships and monitor performance, addressing delivery delays, quality concerns, and service issues. Identify cost savings, supplier consolidation opportunities, and purchasing efficiencies. Partner with internal teams to define requirements, plan purchases, and prioritize critical needs. Maintain purchasing documentation and develop clear, consistent processes and procedures. Create purchase orders and support PO data entry, ensuring accurate pricing, quantities, terms, and approvals. Update PO due dates, follow up on past-due orders, and verify future delivery commitments. Communicate supply risks and delivery changes, and coordinate solutions to minimize business disruptions. Work with receiving and accounting teams to resolve order and invoice discrepancies. Qualifications At least 10 years of purchasing or procurement experience, including strategic sourcing, supplier management, and negotiations. Demonstrated experience managing non-inventory and MRO purchasing in a manufacturing environment. Proven ability to deliver cost savings and improve supplier performance. Strong understanding of purchasing processes, commercial terms, and procurement controls. Proficiency in ERP systems and purchase order management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with above-average skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
