Staff Pharmacist

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Staff Pharmacist to join our dynamic healthcare team at Altera Pharmacy. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient dispensing of medications while providing exceptional patient care. Your expertise will support clinical pharmacy services, medication management, and patient education initiatives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong clinical & moral judgment, and exhibit a passion for improving patient outcomes through comprehensive pharmaceutical care. Responsibilities: Dispense prescriptions accurately while verifying dosage, interactions, and contraindications using advanced pharmacy software systems. Provide expert consultation on medication therapy management. Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate medication plans. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement medical management strategies tailored to individual patient needs. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and pharmacy policies to ensure patient confidentiality and safety. Manage inventory levels efficiently, including ordering, storage, and disposal of pharmaceuticals while ensuring aseptic techniques during compounding and IV insertion procedures. Educate patients on medication administration, potential side effects, and health management strategies to promote optimal health outcomes. Manage Pharmacy workflow in coordination with the PharmacistInCharge Requirements: An active and valid pharmacist license with current registration in the State of Texas is required. Preceptor certification/license is required. Immunization administration certification is preferred. Hands on experience within PioneerRX is highly preferred. Skilled in compounding medications using aseptic technique and managing IV infusions with precision is a plus but not required. Experience working with pharmacy technicians and leading patient service initiatives effectively. Knowledge of inventory management practices to ensure medication availability while minimizing waste.
