Staff Consultant, Medicaid
BerryDunnOverview: BerryDunn is seeking a Staff Consultant, Medicaid to join our Medicaid Practice Group within our Consulting Team. This position is planned to remotely serve our state Medicaid agency clients across the country. You will work under the direction of senior consultants, subject matter experts, project leads, and/or other BerryDunn leaders assigned to the project. You will assist teams that support state Medicaid agencies in the planning, development, financing, implementation, and oversight of Medicaid programs and initiatives. This role is primarily focused on two key service areas: Advanced Planning Document (APD) narrative and budget development, and Outcomes-Based Procurement (OBP) support. In support of APD engagements, you will assist with narrative development, budget documentation, research, and related artifacts used by state Medicaid agencies to request funding approval from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). In support of OBP engagements, you will assist with procurement planning, stakeholder coordination, document development, research, and other consulting services that help clients implement effective procurement strategies and achieve desired business outcomes. Successful candidates will possess strong attention to detail, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, capable of managing multiple assignments, and interested in developing expertise in Medicaid consulting, APD development, procurement support, and related advisory services. Training will be provided through a combination of formal instruction, mentorship, and on-the-job learning. Travel Expectations: 25–50% on-site travel may be required, with the possibility of additional travel based on client and project needs. You Will: Support the development of APD narratives, budget documentation, Medicaid Detailed Budget Tables, and other CMS submission materials. Assist with OBP activities, including research, requirements gathering, document development, and procurement support. Collaborate with project teams to research, analyze, and develop client deliverables, presentations, reports, and supporting documentation. Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and project team members. Track project activities, including action items, risks, issues, decisions, deliverables, and project milestones. Prepare and edit meeting agendas, minutes, status reports, presentations, and other client-facing materials. Support project coordination activities by managing project repositories, coordinating meetings, maintaining project documentation, and following up on deliverables. Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development activities. Perform administrative and project coordination tasks efficiently and accurately, asking questions when instructions are unclear. Participate in and support firm-wide initiatives, including knowledge sharing, internal process improvement, and business development efforts. You Have: Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in related field. Five years of applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirements. Experience developing clear, concise, and professional written deliverables, including reports, proposals, policies, business documents, or similar materials. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize competing deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, project teams, and stakeholders. Interest in Medicaid consulting, APD development, budgeting, procurement, project management, and related advisory services.
