Senior Vice President of Club Operations 


Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or Chief Operations Officer (COO) 

Status: Full-Time, Exempt 

Location: Sonoma–Marin (multi-site; regular travel to Clubs required) 


Position Summary


The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Club Operations is a senior executive leader responsible for the overall performance, consistency, and impact of BGCSM’s Club operations, serving 30+ Club locations and more than 11,000 youth annually, within an organization supported by an approximately $20 million operating budget and 350 employees. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across all Club sites, ensuring high-quality, safe, and mission-aligned experiences for youth and families while driving operational excellence, staff engagement, and continuous improvement. 


As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the SVP of Club Operations partners closely with the CEO and fellow executives to translate organizational strategy into effective, scalable, and sustainable operational practices. This role balances strategic leadership with hands-on operational oversight, supporting senior operations leaders while ensuring alignment with BGCSM’s mission, values, and strategic priorities. 


Scope & Complexity of the Role


This role oversees a year-round, multi-site operation with varying schedules, staffing models, funding sources, and community partnerships. The SVP of Club Operations leads through seasonal shifts, evolving community needs, and real-time operational challenges, balancing long-term strategy with practical problem-solving to ensure consistent, high-quality Club experiences every day. 



Key Responsibilities


Executive & Strategic Leadership


Provide executive leadership for Club Operations in support of BGCSM’s strategic priorities and commitment to a world-class Club experience. 


Partner with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on organizational strategy, growth, operational planning, and performance. 


Contribute to board-level reporting, presentations, and strategic discussions related to Club operations, quality, and impact. 


Club Operations & Program Model Ownership


Own BGCSM’s Club program model, ensuring consistent, high-quality implementation across all Club locations. 


Lead day-to-day Club operations, ensuring safety, quality, compliance, and consistency. 


Establish, document, and refine program and operational standards to support continuous quality improvement. 


Ensure Clubs meet annual goals related to membership, attendance, staffing, and program quality. 


Use data, site visits, and feedback to evaluate effectiveness and drive improvement. 


Attendance, Outcomes & Grant Performance


Drive average daily attendance (ADA) and enrollment across Club locations in alignment with funding and community impact goals. 


Ensure operational alignment with grant requirements, performance measures, and service commitments, in partnership with Grants and Finance. 


Monitor attendance, outcomes, and program performance data to identify trends and address gaps. 


Hold operational leaders accountable for meeting grant-related goals and reporting expectations. 


People Leadership & Workforce Management


Lead, coach, and develop senior operations leaders, including Vice Presidents, Regional Directors, and other operational leadership roles. 


Build and sustain a high-performing, values-driven operations team in partnership with Human Resources. 


Support consistent hiring, onboarding, performance management, and retention practices across Club operations. 


Data, Quality & Continuous Improvement


Own the implementation and measurement of program quality standards across Club operations. 


Drive performance metrics related to youth outcomes, attendance, safety, staffing, and overall Club experience. 


Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate data collection and reporting. 


Use data and qualitative insights to continuously refine the Club program model. 


 



 


 

Requirements


Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 


Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 5 years in an executive-level role. 


Demonstrated experience leading large, complex teams of 200+ employees across multiple sites. 


Proven experience overseeing multi-million-dollar operations. 


Strong strategic, analytical, organizational, and people leadership skills. 


Experience working with boards of directors, public agencies, and community partners. 

Salary Description
$160,000-$200,000
