Job Description

 

The senior project buyer will be responsible for sourcing and procuring all necessary goods, materials, and services specifically for a designated project, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project specifications while managing costs and collaborating with project teams to achieve project goals; essentially acting as the primary point of contact for all procurement activities related to a single project. 

 

Role and responsibilities

 

  • Strategic collaboration: Work closely with the procurement manager and buyers to achieve the organization's objectives
  • Key supplier management: Oversee supplier accounts, negotiate contracts, and manage purchasing activities.
  • Supplier sourcing: Identify partners capable of meeting quality, quantity, and deadline requirements.
  • Defining the procurement strategy: Work with project managers to develop a strategy aligned with needs, optimizing costs and risks.
  • Order administration: Create and track purchase orders, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Compliance with standards and ethics: Ensure that purchases comply with internal policies and regulations.
  • Supply risk management: Anticipate and mitigate disruptions related to suppliers or the supply chain.
  • Budget monitoring and cost analysis: Control expenses to stay within the project budget.
  • Communication and coordination: Maintain fluid dialogue with teams, stakeholders, and suppliers.
  • Supplier performance evaluation and improvement: Monitor contractual results and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or price.
  • All other related tasks are considered part of the role and may be assigned as needed.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in procurement, contract management, and supplier development.
  • Strong understanding of technical specifications, industry standards, contract language, and inventory management concepts.
  • Experience in purchasing parts for product development, analyzing market trends and costs to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple procurement-related tasks while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Excellent communication with stakeholders and suppliers, with confidence in negotiating favorable logistical and commercial terms.
  • Master the French and English language (suppliers/ customers from the United States).
