This role is in Textron System's Legal business area.We are seeking an experienced Export Compliance professional to manage our expanding regulatory compliance and contractual obligations in our defense line of business. This position is responsible for Customs Compliance management including the overall coordination and execution of import and export activities and the development, implementation and maintenance of compliance programs. This position is responsible for ensuring that all import and export related activities are in compliance with regulations including but not limited to the Export Administration Regulations and the Code of Federal Regulations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success managing export and import compliance in an aerospace/defense environment and have an extensive knowledge of the International in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations, and Customs Regulations, and must also have excellent communication skills.The Sr. Manager of Export/Import Compliance will proactively oversee all export and import compliance matters for various businesses within Textron Systems located in Hunt valley, Maryland, Slidell, Louisiana, Wilmington, Massachusetts, Newport News, Virginia, Haslet, Texas and Goose Creek, South Carolina, United Kingdom, Australia and Canada. This person will interact with employees at all levels and will work both independently and with other members of the business and members of the Legal, Contracts and Compliance staff on a variety of interesting international trade compliance matters. The role requires successful management of a broad range of responsibilities in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.Required Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's Degree (emphasis on international trade management, international business, MBA or law a plus)At least 10 years of experience managing Import and Export trade compliance, preferably with a major company or customs brokerageExperience in government contracting, software, and/or defense and aerospace industry a plusITAR compliance experience, with progressively more complex responsibilities, as well as working knowledge of Import and Customs Regulations and Export Administration Regulations requiredA US Customs Brokers License is a plusComprehensive knowledge of all U.S. import/export control regulations, including HTS classifications of electronicsPrefer experience in government contracting and international trade compliance areas, such as Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Antiboycott and Office of Foreign Assets ControlKnowledge of USMCA certificates of originA team player with an open, mature and positive personality who is willing to share and communicate information effectively while maintaining high levels of integrity, confidentiality, and discretionConsistent attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize and timely produce high-quality work products is absolutely essentialStrong business acumen, analytical skills, problem solving abilities, good judgment, and the proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of managementAbility to obtain Department of Defense Security ClearanceMust possess good analytical skills and be able to anticipate problems, diffuse situations and solve complex problemsAt Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful.
