The Role We’re adding a senior leader to own production and sourcing end to end: factory strategy, costing, quality, delivery, fabric and trim sourcing, and trade compliance. We’re in growth mode, so this role needs both ends of the job: the high-level planning to set factory and sourcing direction, and the willingness to work the details day to day. You’ll lead the Production and Raw Materials teams and partner closely with Product Development, Design, and the New York merchandising, sales, and e-commerce teams. What You'll Own Sourcing and vendors Set our sourcing strategy: factory mix, DDP vs. FOB terms, volume commitments, and diversification beyond our current country concentration Manage factory and mill relationships; negotiate pricing, terms, and capacity; vet new vendors and run vendor scorecards Lead fabric and trim sourcing, mill development, and yardage planning, including dye, shrinkage, and quality issues Own import compliance (HTS classification, duty and tariff planning, Importer of Record, customs holds) with customs counsel and brokers, and ensure supply-chain transparency and social compliance across factories and their subcontractors Costing and margin Own costing across styles and fabrics, including should-cost models and competitive re-quotes Own production budgets, forecasts, and cost targets; track KPIs such as cost per unit and on-time delivery Recover and protect gross margin through negotiation, consolidation, and smarter sourcing Production, quality, and team Oversee PO placement, WIP, and on-time delivery across a ~200 SKU/season calendar Set and enforce quality standards across factories, including third-party inspection performance, and resolve fit, construction, and production issues before they reach the customer Lead and develop the Production and Raw Materials teams (Sr. Production Manager, Sr. Raw Materials Manager, and Production/QC) Build the cadence and reporting to keep production on calendar What You Bring 12+ years in apparel production, sourcing, or supply chain, with at least 5 in a senior leadership role Deep experience managing Asian factories and mills, including negotiation and costing Working knowledge of US import compliance, duty, and tariff strategy, and experience with DDP and FOB structures Strong financial and analytical acumen; comfortable building should-cost models and managing to margin Knits and technical fabrics experience, ideally activewear or performance Strong quality mindset and hands-on factory-floor credibility Proven ability to lead and develop teams and build a culture of accountability Track record of scaling operations in a fast-moving, founder-led company where you’ll build process as well as run it Willingness to travel internationally as needed
