Job Responsibilities: Set up and independently program Milling machinery to effectively produce parts within manufacturing specifications in a fast-paced shop environment.

  • Utilize prints to independently develop optimal manufacturing processes and procedures for standard parts.
  • Independently set up and manufacture jobs to effectively produce parts within design specifications.
  • Independently program CNC   machinery.
  • Troubleshoot tooling, program, and machine problems and determine proper corrective action.
  • Determine the proper tooling, cutting sequences, tool paths, speeds, feed rates, chip loads, etc., to optimize production and meet extremely close tolerances as required.
  • Maximize machine uptime.  Maintain the production schedule and offer suggestions to increase efficiency.
  • Load, unload, and deburr parts as required to maintain optimum quality and production.
  • Maintain the physical appearance of the work area, equipment, tools, and personal apparel as needed to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform required preventive maintenance. Maintain oil and coolant levels. Assure chip and waste materials removal. Perform monthly maintenance as directed by the Maintenance department.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in setting up and operating milling machinery is required.
  • Proficient math skills, including geometry, are necessary.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude, combined with effective problem-solving techniques and sound decision-making abilities, is required.
  • The ability to read and operate precision measuring instruments is essential.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints is required.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods and perform general tasks that involve stooping, bending, and stretching is necessary.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. is required.
  • Working overtime is necessary.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential for working with peers and management.
