Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Community Supports & Transportation

Part-Time | Consistent Weekday Schedule | $20/hr | Paid Training

About the Role

ABiLITY is hiring a Part-Time Direct Support Professional to support individuals with developmental disabilities through community activities, transportation, and life-enrichment programs.

This role is perfect for someone who wants a stable weekday schedule, likes helping others, and enjoys a mix of driving and hands-on support. Agency vehicles are provided for all routes and activities.

Schedule

Monday–Friday split shift

• Morning route: Starts as early as 6:45 AM, ends around 9:30 AM
• Afternoon route: Starts around 1:45 PM, ends by 5:00 PM
• 20–30 hours per week on average
• Special Olympics coaching and recreation events (some evenings/weekends)

This is a great fit for someone who wants midday hours off, a second part-time job, or predictable weekday work.

What You’ll Do

• Transport individuals safely in agency vehicles to and from programs
• Support community, recreational, and social activities
• Assist and coach Special Olympics practices and events
• Provide respectful, person-centered support
• Maintain simple, accurate documentation

What You Need

• Compassion, reliability, and a team-focused mindset
• Age 25+
• High school diploma or GED
• Class E (Chauffeur’s) License or willingness to obtain (we provide guidance)
• Must pass DOT physical
• Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, CPI, and Medication Aide certifications (paid training)
• Reliable personal transportation

Pay & Benefits

• $20/hour starting pay
• 20–30 hours per week
• Sick time begins accruing on Day 1
• Paid training and all required certifications
• Opportunities for additional coaching hours
