Northline Transportation is looking for an experienced, patient, and dependable individual to support a student with significant behavioral and developmental needs during transportation. This is a specialized monitor position and previous experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, special education needs, or challenging behaviors is strongly preferred. About the Assignment The student may display challenging behaviors when frustrated, overstimulated, or seeking attention, including yelling/screaming, spitting, and kicking . We're looking for someone who can stay calm, recognize signs of agitation, use de-escalation and redirection techniques, and maintain a safe and supportive environment. Experience as a special education paraprofessional, behavioral aide, DSP, PCA, behavior technician, youth worker, or similar position would be a great fit. No Commute! As a monitor, your Northline driver picks you up at your home before the route and drops you back off when you're finished. No driving to our office. No using your own vehicle or gas to get to work. Work your morning route, get dropped off at home, have the middle of your day free, and get picked up again for the afternoon route. Monitor Now – Transition to Driver This position will cover a temporary leave of absence approximately November 2 through January 22 , but we're looking for someone who wants to stay with Northline long-term. When the monitor assignment ends, the right candidate will transition into a School Van Driver position starting at $19.50/hour. As a driver: No CDL required Company van provided and taken home daily Paid driver training Monday–Friday, school days only No nights, weekends, holidays, or summers What We're Looking For Experience working with individuals with significant behavioral or developmental needs strongly preferred Calm and confident when dealing with challenging behaviors Dependable and punctual Good communication skills Able to pass a criminal background check and required drug screening Interested in transitioning into a driver position To transition to driver, you must also have held a valid driver's license for at least 5 years , have an acceptable driving record, pass a DOT physical, and complete Northline's paid driver training.
