We’re looking for a hands-on Sourcing / Production Operations Lead to turn brand ideas into commercially viable products and deliver them on time. You’ll connect Brand, Design, vendors, Finance, and Operations across collections, product categories, and geographies. You’ll work with AI agents, our software and data infrastructure, and overseas teams—combining their output with your manufacturing knowledge, commercial judgment, and supplier relationships. The role will initially focus on 1–2 brands , with the opportunity to expand across all HWG brands under management over time. What you’ll do Partner with Brands, Partners, and Designers to translate mood boards and product concepts into sourcing options, materials, manufacturing techniques, and vendor capabilities. Source across on-demand, in-stock, off-the-shelf, custom made-to-order, and custom production vendors. Compare suppliers and production routes on price, quality, MOQ, and delivery—for example, print-on-demand versus blanks plus screen printing versus custom fabric and cut-and-sew. Present complete recommendations with specifications, images, verified quotes, MOQs, sample and tooling costs, packaging requirements, lead times, payment terms, and landed economics. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and production calendars with vendors and Finance & Operations. Align quantities with orders, demand, budgets, and market benchmarks. Finalize approved costs and place purchase orders within agreed approval authority. Coordinate materials, samples, prototypes, and pre-production submissions. Turn around comments, resolve discrepancies, and secure Design and Brand approvals to keep calendars moving. Confirm products, labels, and packaging meet Brand and Collection guidelines. Own production milestones against launch and drop dates. Track commitments, escalate risks early, and bring practical alternatives when costs or timelines change. Maintain shared records of specifications, pricing, terms, samples, approvals, and production status. Evaluate full-package and trading vendors, vertically integrated manufacturers, and modular material-plus-conversion supply chains. Choose domestic or overseas production based on each order’s needs. Build dependable vendor networks and continuously evaluate suppliers on quality, cost, responsiveness, and delivery performance. Partner with Brand and Design teams on merchandising, assortment, product economics, and production cadences. Direct AI agents and overseas teammates on research, RFQs, comparisons, follow-ups, and reporting. Verify their work and own the resulting recommendations. What you bring Proven experience taking consumer products from concept through sourcing, sampling, purchasing, production, and delivery. Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, technical specifications, packaging, costing, and supplier negotiations. Experience across product categories, vendor types, and international supply chains. The ability to interpret creative intent, explain factory constraints, and recommend options that support the brand’s goals. Confidence evaluating physical samples and resolving differences between artwork, specifications, quotes, and finished products. Strong commercial judgment around margins, inventory, cash flow, and launch timing. Comfort working with AI tools, directing their output, and verifying results. Clear, proactive communication and the ability to coordinate distributed teams across time zones.
