Position: Sourcing Manager Location: Hybrid - 3 days/week in Boston, MA Duration: 12+ Month Contract Industry: Biotech/Pharma Position Summary The Strategic Sourcing Manager will support a commercial organization by leading strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier management, and contract negotiations across a broad portfolio of commercial services. This role will partner closely with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and business leaders to ensure continuity of critical initiatives during a leave of absence. The ideal candidate is an experienced strategic sourcing professional who can independently manage complex sourcing events, negotiate commercial agreements, and build trusted relationships with stakeholders in a fast-paced pharmaceutical or life sciences environment. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives from intake through contract execution Develop sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives Conduct market assessments and supplier evaluations Manage competitive RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs Prepare executive recommendation materials Supplier Relationship Management Manage strategic supplier relationships across assigned categories Support supplier governance meetings and performance reviews Monitor supplier performance, risks, and continuous improvement opportunities Partner with business stakeholders to resolve supplier issues Contract Negotiation Lead commercial negotiations for SOWs, MSAs, amendments, and renewals Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, service levels, rebates, liability provisions, and other contractual terms Coordinate with Legal, stakeholders, and Procurement throughout contract execution Stakeholder Partnership Serve as the primary strategic sourcing partner for commercial stakeholders Provide sourcing guidance throughout project planning and execution Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing competing business priorities Influence decision-making through data-driven recommendations Financial Management Identify cost savings and value creation opportunities Perform pricing analyses and market benchmarking Develop negotiation strategies to optimize commercial outcomes Track sourcing pipelines and realized savings Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with: Commercial Legal Finance Third-Party Risk Management Procurement Operations Compliance Preferred Category Experience Experience supporting one or more of the following categories is preferred: Market Research Patient Support Services Data & Analytics Meetings & Events Sales Operations Field Force Services Health Economics and Outcomes Research Qualifications Bachelor's degree 7-10 years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management experience Experience leading complex sourcing events Strong contract negotiation experience Experience managing strategic supplier relationships Excellent executive communication skills Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously Preferred Qualifications Pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience Commercial procurement experience Familiarity with procurement systems such as Coupa, Icertis, Ariba, or similar platforms
