Sourcing Assistant

Gekko is seeking a detailed-oriented individual with excellent communication and organization skills. This entry-level position will assist the purchasing and sales team with multiple duties including sourcing, customer service, shipping/receiving and assisting with any other duties assigned. This role will also have the opportunity to work with the COO. Sourcing Responsibilities: Research supply options considering technical requirements. Provide product, pricing and availability information to outside sales team through research, electronic and published catalogs. Properly and accurately file open purchase orders and any other paperwork associated with the day-to-day purchasing activities. Process P.O. Acknowledgements, review pricing and/or delivery discrepancies and advise appropriate personnel. Create documents or spreadsheets through Microsoft Word or Excel in support of purchasing functions. Performs product data entry duties such as pricing, item creation, sourcing details, and purchase orders. Proactive order/purchase order expediting. Assist outside sales in quotes and/or orders. Track the status of requisitions and orders. Input customer orders, quotes, bid, etc. for outside sales. Provide customer service by answering telephone, e-mail inquiries and live chat. Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities: Receive incoming shipments by entering materials into the operating system ensuring proper allocation to the corresponding customer purchase order. Check shipments when they arrive to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and those goods meet specifications. Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in shipping area. Complete the shipping function by insuring that all required documentation and shipping labels have been properly attached to the corresponding package. Maintains inventory controls and warehouse organization.
