Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Locomotive Engineer Supervisor to lead and oversee locomotive operations within our rail transportation team. Duties Supervise daily locomotive operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, operational procedures, and regulatory standards. Lead, train, and evaluate locomotive engineers to optimize performance and safety awareness. Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure locomotives are properly serviced and meet operational readiness standards. Oversee compliance with air brake systems, mechanical systems, and heavy equipment operation requirements. Monitor crew schedules, assign tasks efficiently, and manage shift rotations to maximize productivity. Conduct regular safety audits, incident investigations, and enforce safety policies across all locomotive activities. Collaborate with other departments to streamline operational workflows and improve overall service delivery. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of locomotive systems, including air brake mechanisms and heavy equipment operation. Proven leadership experience in supervising technical teams within the transportation or heavy machinery sectors. Familiarity with military training or experience that emphasizes discipline, safety protocols, and leadership under pressure. Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with crews, maintenance teams, and management. Ability to interpret technical manuals, safety regulations, and operational procedures clearly and accurately. Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and rail transportation regulations. Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting mechanical or operational issues.
