Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Operations Leadership Lead all day-to-day 3PL warehouse and distribution operations. Ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and returns. Establish and maintain operational KPIs, productivity standards, and service-level objectives. Optimize warehouse layout, labor utilization, workflows, equipment, and processes. Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time. Manage relationships with internal departments. Financial & Business Management Have overall P&L responsibility for the 3PL operation. Develop labor forecasts, labor plans, and operating targets. Monitor revenue, labor costs, operating expenses, productivity, and profitability. Identify opportunities to improve margins and reduce operating costs. Develop operational strategies for new and existing customers in partnership with senior management. Support business development and customer retention initiatives. Customer Management Serve as a senior point of contact for key 3PL customers. Build strong, long-term customer relationships and ensure service expectations are consistently met. Resolve escalated operational issues quickly and professionally. Partner with sales and implementation teams to onboard new customers successfully. People & Team Leadership Recruit, train, coach, and develop warehouse and operations leadership teams. Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards. Develop supervisors and managers to create a strong leadership pipeline. Manage staffing levels according to business volume and customer requirements. Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Inventory & Technology Maintain high inventory accuracy and establish effective cycle-counting and inventory-control procedures. Oversee utilization of WMS, TMS, ERP, and other logistics technology. Analyze operational data and reporting to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Lead implementation of new systems, processes, automation, and technology as needed. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized facility. Enforce safety training and accountability programs. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions. Continuous Improvement Implement Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or other continuous-improvement methodologies where appropriate. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput, quality, and profitability. Enforce standardized operating procedures and best practices. Drive automation and process improvements that support scalability.
