he shunter is responsible for providing onsite service in moving trailers to and from Distribution Doors, reconciling equipment, tagging equipment for service, connecting and disconnect reefer trailers with Vector electric cooling technology and maintaining organization of the Brampton yard. Shunter is provided with a shunt truck to complete all necessary tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Shunt trailers to and from dock doors as directed by Distribution Department
• Perform yard checks listing all equipment, temperature verifications, fuel, and product commodity within trailers.
• Tag equipment for service as directed
• Ability to troubleshoot trailer/reefer defects an asset to mitigate operational delay
• Report and raise awareness on any noted damages or equipment safety concerns.
• Set reefer temperatures as directed by Distribution or Dispatch
• Support in providing direction to drivers in the yard and direct as required
• Maintain cost and emissions reduction strategy by ensure all duel fuel electric reefers and parked in designated locations and connected to electric power
• Other ad-hoc responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
• Excellent Communication/People skills
• AZ Licence needed.
• 2 Years of Verifiable Driving Experience
• 1 Year of shunting experience preferred.
• Experience using a shunt truck
• Comfortable with using technology to complete tasks
• Strong knowledge of pre/post trip inspection and able to troubleshoot when required
• Experience managing a fleet of duel fuel reefers
• Ability to climb in and out of trucks for extensive periods
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be able to life up 50LBS
