Shorebase Logistics Foreman

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Shorebase Foreman duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Direct daily shorebase operations by establishing work priorities, coordinating personnel and resources, and ensuring readiness to support vessel, trucking, and offshore activities. Supervise and support shorebase personnel responsible for vessel movements, cargo handling, material tracking, and daily operational activities. Communicate with offshore operations, shorebase personnel, logistics, and vendors to confirm transportation requirements, cargo priorities, vessel readiness, and schedule changes. Anticipate, coordinate, and respond to changing operational priorities, weather-related disruptions, vessel availability issues, cargo constraints, and other delays. Oversee vessel arrivals, departures, berth assignments, loadouts, backloads, and turnaround activities through assigned personnel, ensuring safe and timely execution. Oversee vessel on/off-charter checks and documentation; confirm readiness with logistics and authorize vessel release in accordance with established requirements. Review vessel activity and utilization to identify idle time, inefficiency, unnecessary trips, and opportunities to consolidate cargo or improve vessel support. Ensure compliance with cargo cutoff times, material QA/QC requirements, and accurate preparation of manifests, shipping documentation, labeling, and required shipment notifications. Maintain accountability for company materials, rental equipment, and returned cargo, including proper storage, discrepancy resolution, and timely processing or vendor return. Ensure shorebase personnel consistently and accurately use designated logistics management systems to manage cargo movements, material accountability, and required operational records. Verify vessel logs, enter spend allocations, review invoices and discrepancies, and coordinate corrections or approvals with logistics as required. Oversee assigned shorebase and third-party contractors, monitor service quality and cost-effective execution, and provide vendor performance feedback and recommendations. Promote Incident Free Operations by ensuring compliance with Talos HSE policies, established cargo-handling procedures, and applicable shorebase and environmental requirements; promptly communicate incidents and operational safety concerns. Ensure required inspections, equipment certification checks, hazardous and nonhazardous shipment documentation, and applicable NORM and waste-handling procedures are completed by responsible personnel. Identify recurring operational, reporting, or system issues; coordinate corrective actions with shorebase personnel, logistics, operations, HSE, and vendors to improve long-term performance. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 7–10 years of relevant experience in shorebase logistics supporting offshore operations. High School Diploma or equivalent. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: Relevant experience in shorebase operations, offshore logistics, marine logistics, materials management, or a similar industrial environment; Gulf of America offshore oil and gas experience preferred. Demonstrated experience leading personnel and coordinating multiple operational activities in a fast-paced logistics environment. Working knowledge of vessel support operations, cargo receiving and shipping, material staging, vessel loadouts/backloads, trucking, and offshore material movements. Working knowledge of cargo handling, lifting and rigging practices, hazardous and nonhazardous material requirements, and applicable shorebase HSE procedures. Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize personnel, equipment, cargo, and transportation requirements while responding to changing operational needs. Strong leadership skills with the ability to establish expectations, delegate responsibilities, coach personnel, address performance issues, and promote accountability.
