Role Description The Shop Technician forklift operator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Spring, TX. This role is responsible for safely operating forklifts to load, unload, and move rental equipment and supplies within the shop and yard. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine maintenance and basic repairs on heavy equipment, inspecting machinery for safe operation, and assisting with equipment preparation before rental and upon return. The Shop Technician forklift operator also helps organize inventory, keeps the work area clean and safe, and communicates with supervisors and team members about equipment status and any issues identified. This position requires consistent attention to safety procedures and adherence to company policies. Qualifications Experience working with Heavy Equipment in a shop, yard, or industrial environment. Strong Troubleshooting skills for identifying mechanical issues and coordinating necessary repairs. Proficient Forklift Operation skills, including safe loading, unloading, and material handling. Effective Communication skills for working with team members, supervisors, and, when needed, customers. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in equipment maintenance is a plus. Knowledge of basic safety standards and ability to follow OSHA and company safety guidelines. Physical ability to lift and move equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in outdoor and shop environments. Prior experience in equipment rental, construction, or industrial settings is beneficial. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
