Check out our many videos to learn more! http://www.dxpe.com/about-us/careers/ Summary The Shop Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing all shop operations, including repair, machining, fabrication, inspection, and field service activities related to pumps, rotating equipment, motors, and associated systems. This role supervises shop personnel, coordinates project execution, develops work scopes, ensures compliance with ANSI and API repair standards, and manages scheduling and resource allocation to meet customer requirements. The Shop Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized work environment while supporting operational growth and delivering high-quality repair and service solutions. Responsibilities Responsibilities of the Shop Supervisor include, but are not limited to: Plan, direct, and supervise the daily activities of the Service Coordinator, Shop Mechanics, Machinists, and other shop personnel. Lead the successful execution of fabrication projects, equipment repairs, field service assignments, and customer work orders. Develop detailed work scopes for repair, overhaul, machining, and fabrication projects. Coordinate project planning, scheduling, manpower assignments, and resource allocation to ensure timely completion of work. Monitor project progress and collaborate with the Service Manager to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with customer expectations. Ensure efficient utilization of labor, equipment, and shop resources to maximize productivity and profitability. Oversee the tear down, inspection, evaluation, and repair of pumps, rotating equipment, motors, and related mechanical systems. Review repair findings and provide recommendations for repair, replacement, or refurbishment. Prepare, review, and approve final inspection reports, repair documentation, and quality records. Ensure all repairs are performed in accordance with applicable ANSI, API, manufacturer, and company repair procedures and standards. Supervise and participate in machining operations and procedures required to support equipment repair and fabrication activities. Perform and oversee shop machinist responsibilities, including interpretation of machining requirements, inspection of machined components, and coordination of machining schedules. Troubleshoot pump, rotating equipment, and mechanical system failures. Perform and oversee repairs of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, reciprocating, and progressive cavity pumps, as well as other rotating equipment, electric motors, and engines. Perform functional testing and quality inspections on completed repairs. Fabricate, assemble, and inspect custom equipment skids, packages, and related systems. Support field installation, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities as required. Perform startup and troubleshooting of equipment controls, including VFDs and PLC systems, based on experience and qualifications. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and industry best practices.
