NOW HIRING AUTOMOTIVE SHOP DISPATCHER Keep our technicians productive, repairs moving, and vehicles on schedule. Strong PBS knowledge and basic mechanical knowledge required We are seeking an organized and experienced Automotive Shop Dispatcher to join our busy Service Department. This key operational role coordinates the daily flow of repair work, assigns jobs to technicians based on their skills and availability, and helps ensure vehicles are completed accurately and on time. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assign and dispatch repair orders based on technician skill, experience, availability, and workload. Match each repair with the technician best qualified to complete the work. Monitor the daily flow of work through the Service Department. Track vehicles and repairs from assignment through completion. Follow up with technicians regarding job progress, repair concerns, delays, and completion times. Maintain accurate work-in-progress information and repair-order updates in PBS. Communicate status changes and delays to Service Advisors and Service Management. Coordinate effectively with Service Advisors, Technicians, Parts personnel, and management. Balance technician workloads and help resolve scheduling or shop-capacity concerns. Help ensure repairs are completed efficiently, accurately, and within expected timelines. Review completed repair orders for accuracy and proper documentation. Support an organized, productive, professional, and safety-focused shop. WHAT YOU BRING Previous automotive dealership, service, or dispatch experience. Strong PBS knowledge is required. Basic automotive and mechanical knowledge. Understanding of repair orders, automotive terminology, and common service procedures. Ability to match repair work with the appropriate technician skill level. Strong organization, prioritization, and time-management skills. Excellent communication, follow-up, and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, punctual, and team-focused attitude.
