Shop and Fleet Manager
LUNSETH Lawn Care ProfessionalsLUNSETH is looking for a Shop and Fleet Manager to join our team! The Shop and Fleet Manager manages the overall and day-to-day operations of the shop, provides leadership to crew members, and maintains safe and efficient daily operations of production in the shop. This includes planning and initiating new ways to increase efficiency, managing budgets, working with crew leaders on guidance for organizational issues, implementing and following through with maintenance programs for all equipment and vehicles, equipment storage and tracking, managing inventory, and reordering materials. Primary Responsibilities: Anticipate and plan for seasonal transitions. . All repairs and maintenance performed All vehicles compliance requirements are maintained (tags, weight requirements, license plates, other DOT requirements/certifications). Maintain regular equipment repair spend monthly via fleet software. Operations Management Work to achieve performance targets of Lunseth. Increase profitability through searching out and implementing work processes to increase efficiency. Develop and implement cost saving initiatives to improve operational performance and efficiency. Take overall responsibility for the safe and efficient daily operation of production of the shop. Provide leadership and training on issues facing the organization, working collectively with crew leaders, and understanding all aspects of fleet management. Implement a maintenance program to ensure equipment, including machines and vehicles, is fully functioning and decreases down time. Ensure maintenance schedule is in place and followed. Reorder bulk materials. Effectively manage inventory and reorder points. Coordinate with Operations Manager and advise where tools/equipment are assigned and returned (tracking). Being a direct report manager of our Fleet Assistant Qualifications: Mechanical experience related to the lawncare/landscaping industry. Excellent communication skills. Able to learn/operate software. Problem-solving skills. Strong organization skills. Able to do basic calculations. Preferred: Experience in training and/or managing employees Associate degree in industrial technology or related field, or equivalent experience. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to perform maintenance and repair tasks. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 80 pounds. Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, grease, oils, and varying temperatures.
