Shipping & Warehouse Associate (Part-Time)

About Goldleaf Scientific Goldleaf Scientific is a growing supplier of laboratory and scientific equipment, specializing in chemical reactor systems, laboratory glassware, and related equipment used in research and manufacturing. We're a small business looking for a dependable, detail-oriented individual to help manage our shipping, inventory, and warehouse operations. This is a hands-on position with flexible hours, on-the-job training, and opportunities to take on additional responsibilities as the company grows. Position Overview We're looking for someone who is reliable, organized, and willing to learn. Previous warehouse or shipping experience is helpful but not required. We value honesty, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive attitude more than experience. Our warehouse processes are still developing, so we're looking for someone who can not only complete daily tasks but also help improve organization and efficiency over time. The right person will be comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and learning new procedures. Responsibilities Shipping & Order Fulfillment Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment. Carefully package laboratory equipment, glassware, and other fragile items. Print shipping labels and prepare shipping documentation. Verify orders for accuracy before shipment. Maintain shipping supplies and keep the packing area organized. Inventory Management Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities. Count inventory and maintain accurate inventory records. Label, organize, and store products in designated locations. Assist with periodic inventory counts and identifying discrepancies. Help establish and maintain an organized inventory storage system. Warehouse Organization Keep warehouse shelves, work areas, and shipping stations clean and organized. Identify opportunities to improve storage, workflows, and efficiency. Assist with organizing and labeling existing inventory. Maintain a safe and orderly work environment. Additional Opportunities As the company grows, there may be opportunities to learn additional skills, including basic parts preparation, equipment assembly, and other hands-on projects. No manufacturing experience is required. Qualifications Required Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy. Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Basic computer skills. Willingness to learn new tasks, tools, and procedures. Comfortable performing hands-on work, including standing, walking, packing, and moving inventory. Ability to safely handle packages and materials; assistance or equipment is available for heavier items. Preferred but Not Required Previous shipping, warehouse, or inventory experience. Familiarity with shipping software or inventory management systems. Experience handling fragile or high-value products. Interest in mechanical equipment, tools, or hands-on technical work. Schedule & Compensation $18–$20 per hour , depending on qualifications. Approximately 10–20 hours per week . Flexible scheduling, with a preference for shorter shifts of approximately four hours, three to four days per week, rather than fewer full-day shifts. Work is performed on-site in Riverside, CA.
