Shipping Supervisor / Machine Operator

About us Greenerprinter is a B Corp certified commercial printer in Richmond. We've been printing sustainably for years, using recycled papers and eco-friendly processes for customers across the country through our web-to-print platform. We're growing fast and looking for someone who wants to grow with us. The role This is a hands-on job split between running our bindery and owning our shipping department. You'll keep finished work moving out the door on time, keep our finishing equipment running, and make sure every order leaves packed right and tracked correctly. This role is about half on the machines and half on the computer, so you need to be sharp at both. No print background required; if you're mechanically handy and good with computers, we'll teach you the equipment. If you like fixing machines, figuring out software, and being the person the floor relies on, this is for you. What you'll do Run bindery and finishing equipment: cutters, folders, stitchers, and other finishing machines Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot equipment, and handle basic maintenance Supervise daily shipping: packing, labeling, carrier pickups, and tracking Prioritize rush and hot jobs so deadlines get met Use shipping software and our job tracking system to keep orders accurate Check finished work for quality before it ships Keep the shipping and bindery areas organized and safe Train and direct other team members as needed What we're looking for Hands-on mechanical experience: fixing equipment, working on cars, maintenance, manufacturing, or anything where you've kept machines running You can figure out why something isn't working and fix it Strong computer skills. You'll use shipping software, our online job tracking system, and spreadsheets every day. You should be quick at picking up new programs and comfortable troubleshooting basic tech issues on your own. Experience leading or coordinating others is a plus Detail-oriented and reliable under deadline pressure Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for a full shift Shipping experience with UPS, FedEx, or freight is a plus No print experience needed. We'll train you on our bindery equipment. Pay: $31.00 - $37.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) matching Health insurance Work Location: In person
