Shipping & Receiving Material Handler/Forklift Operator

LOCATION : Broussard, La REPORTING TO : Shipping and Receiving Manager POSITION : Shipping and Receiving Material Handler / Forklift Operator COMPENSATION : Wide Range, based on level of experience Summary: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join our team. This is a hands-on, physically active position responsible for offloading, tagging, staging, and moving incoming materials including pipe, fittings, beam, structural steel, valves, and hardware. The work environment is typically outdoors or in the fabrication shop, not a traditional warehouse setting. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with industrial materials, be organized, and have a strong work ethic. Key Responsibilities: Offload and check-in incoming materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment Tag and stage materials according to job number and purchase order requirements Visually inspect materials for damage, size, quantity, and specification accuracy Identify and report any discrepancies or damaged items to supervisor Move and deliver materials into the shop as needed by production personnel Responsible for maintaining overall yard organization and cleanliness Required Qualifications / Attributes: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in outdoor/shop environments (Required) Forklift experience (Required) Submit to a background check, physical, and ability to pass a drug screen Preferred Attributes: Experience with various pipe sizes, schedules, fittings, flanges, and structural materials Basic knowledge of MTRs and material certs and their importance Basic computer skills Ability to read fabrication drawings Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for training
