Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Clerk

North Tonawanda, NY Full-Time | Hourly | Non-Union Position Pay: $25.00–$28.00 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Position Summary Battenfeld Grease & Oil Corp. is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Clerk to join our team. This position is responsible for supporting the accurate, safe, and timely processing of inbound and outbound shipments while maintaining accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working in a warehouse and shipping environment, and able to coordinate effectively with carriers, warehouse employees, and other team members. Key Responsibilities Receive and process inbound shipments, verifying materials against purchase orders and delivery information. Direct carriers to the appropriate receiving locations. Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, discrepancies, or other issues and report concerns as necessary. Enter received shipments into the system and verify and maintain applicable material certifications. Build outbound shipments based on customer orders and available inventory. Verify outgoing shipments against customer orders for accuracy. Schedule freight pickups and compare available shipping rates. Prepare bills of lading, packing slips, labels, certifications, and other required shipping documentation. Package outgoing materials according to customer and company requirements. Create and maintain customer certifications for outbound shipments. Maintain accurate computer and paper records of inventory movements and stock levels. Conduct periodic cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory audits. Communicate and coordinate with warehouse employees to help ensure daily shipping and receiving activities run efficiently. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory, or a related field preferred. Experience with UPS, FedEx, and shipping software preferred. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and data entry. Familiarity with inventory management systems or processes. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic math skills and effective time-management skills. Clear and professional communication skills when working with drivers, coworkers, and other departments. Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of North Tonawanda, NY, or be willing to relocate to the Buffalo–Niagara region prior to starting. This is a fully on-site position and is not eligible for remote work. Reliable transportation and a stable work history. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, stack, and unstack materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors for varying periods during both winter and summer conditions.
