Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Associate

The Athletic Shop has provided custom apparel and sportswear to schools, teams, and businesses since 1973. We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented person to help keep incoming merchandise, inventory, and outgoing shipments organized and accurate. This is a hands-on position with straightforward responsibilities. You’ll have a manager available for guidance, but we expect you to learn our processes, stay productive, and handle routine tasks independently. Responsibilities Receive and unpack shipments, count merchandise, and check styles, colors, sizes, and quantities against order paperwork. Identify and report shortages, incorrect items, or damaged merchandise. Sort and place incoming merchandise in the correct inventory or customer-order location. Pull inventory accurately for customer orders and production. Pack outgoing orders, create shipping labels, and make sure labels go on the correct boxes. Enter receiving and shipping information into our computer systems. Keep work areas organized and help with inventory counts as needed. Communicate clearly with your manager and coworkers to keep orders moving. Qualifications Dependable attendance and punctuality. Strong attention to detail and accurate basic counting and math skills. Comfortable using a computer, entering information, and learning shipping and inventory software. Ability to follow written instructions, stay organized, and work at a steady pace. Good judgment—able to handle familiar tasks independently and ask questions when something doesn’t match. Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting or moving boxes throughout the workday. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, stocking, retail, or a similar hands-on role is preferred. What to Expect We’ll train you on our products and systems. In return, we’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, checks details, and follows through. Accuracy matters: the right items need to go to the right order, with the right shipping label. Applicants taking college classes are welcome if their availability fits the hours needed.
