Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator

Job Summary We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator to join our team on 1st, 2nd and swing shift. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse operations related to shipping and receiving, ensuring that materials and products are handled safely and accurately. The ideal candidate is experienced in forklift operation, warehouse management systems, and materials handling, with a strong focus on safety standards and inventory control. Duties Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials safely within the warehouse. Use barcode scanning systems to accurately track inventory movement and update warehouse management systems. Load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to OSHA safety protocols and warehouse safety standards. Assist with order picking using order picker equipment to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly. Perform routine equipment inspections and minor repairs on forklifts and material handling equipment to ensure safe operation. Maintain accurate inventory records through manual counting, barcode scanning, and warehouse management system updates. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock, managing pallet jacks, and ensuring proper storage practices are followed. Skills Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment. Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments including OSHA regulations related to forklift safety protocols. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while maintaining proper ergonomic practices. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments or inventory quantities. Familiarity with barcode scanning technology for logistics purposes. Experience with warehouse operations including shipping & receiving processes, order picking, load & unload activities, and equipment repair basics.
