Position Description: As the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator you will be responsible for ensuring all shipments are scheduled in the most cost-effective manner, shipping documents are accurate, inventory transactions are completed following ERP best practices, and customer communication is proactive and comprehensive. The primary duties will involve scheduling LTL and common carrier freight, receiving incoming deliveries, properly documenting, and communicating shipment details, receiving incoming deliveries, and maintaining organization throughout the warehouse area. Essential Job Functions: Schedules and coordinates domestic and international air, sea, and land freight transactions. Ensures freight transactions are selected based on company objectives for cost and on-time delivery. Seeks competitive quotes on domestic and international freight. Prepares and reviews customs documentation including but not limited to customs invoices, packing lists, and other shipment details with custom brokers and customers. Applies harmonized codes and export licensing as required. Maintains the shipping records, including providing tracking or shipping history information on request. Interfaces with brokers and freight forwarders to obtain compliance with company requirements. Coordinates with freight forwarders to merge or consolidate shipments to obtain optimal pricing. Proactively resolves and escalates concerns associated with shipping and receiving equipment and materials. Actively participate in continuous improvements associated with the warehouse as well as across the company. Completes daily receiving work safely and accurately including verifying counts, completing quality checks, and physically putting inventory into bin or self-locations following ERP system protocols. Reviews shipping and receiving paperwork to ensure accurate and complete information has been collected and documented. Communicates effectively with fellow team members, company leadership, and customers. Participates in weekly/monthly inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory process. Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned. Experience: Minimum 3 year’s manufacturing or distribution experience with a proven track record in coordinating transportation. Previous ERP experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to safely operate a forklift proficiently. Ability to hand load and unload boxes of products. Ability to thoroughly and accurately complete transactions within our ERP system. Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. Ability to lift/ carry up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally with help. Must be proficient in general mathematics with or without the use of a calculator. Must be able to follow instructions, read, write, and communicate with customers and fellow team members. Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Outlook/Excel). Ability to positively work as part of a team.
