Job Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, loading and unloading trucks, verifying orders, and completing shipping documentation. This role also requires the use of measuring tools and scales to ensure accuracy in counts, weights, and material specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Unload trucks and verify incoming shipments
• Process outbound shipments by confirming box counts, piece counts, and weights
• Weigh and measure materials using scales, measuring tapes, and other tools
• Accurately count and record inventory data
• Inspect incoming and returned items for damage, defects, and quality concerns
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment
• Input inventory and shipping information into warehouse computer systems
• Evaluate returned products by verifying quantity, weight, and quality
• Retrieve orders, verify shipment accuracy, and label packages appropriately
• Follow all safety, quality, and warehouse procedures
Qualifications:
• Minimum 6 months of warehouse and shipping/receiving experience
• Minimum 6 months of forklift operation experience
• Ability to accurately use scales, measuring tapes, and other measuring tools
• Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and recording data
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
Physical Requirements:
• Standing, walking, lifting, and bending throughout the shift
• Regular handling of weights up to 50 lbs
• Visual and manual coordination for measuring and inspecting materials
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
