Shipping Production Operator

Summary: Assists in the daily activities involved in preparing forged product for shipment and ensuring 100% zero defects. Essential functions: Visual inspection Perform various quality inspections using go/no/go gages Receiving inspection Re-work (grinding) Operating presses to perform auxiliary operations Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of forged products Reports questionable or nonconforming products to Supervisor Maintains the work area and equipment and performs basic housekeeping tasks Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, vendors, co-workers and management Comply with all safety procedures and regulations Competencies Strong attention to detail to inspect and meet quality standards Communication Proficiency Flexible Thoroughness Time Management Physical demands The Shipping Production Operator is required to stand all day. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently required to bend at the waist, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and/or handle, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include meeting the Snellen 14/18 or better in one (1) eye, not corrected or corrected with glasses, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Scheduled days vary and hours of work are from 6:00am to 4:00pm.
