Job Summary: Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will handle all Direct and schedule truck drivers’ runs and handle all aspects of overseeing shipping/receiving duties. Will follow all company policies & procedures, department standard operating procedures and safety protocols, while exhibiting behavior that models Jamil’s Core Values: Do the Right Thing; Team before Self; Embrace Accountability; Be a Loyal Teammate; and Stay Humble & Positive Accountability Chart Major Roles: Lead Manage Accountability (LMA), Lead Transportation/Shipping Team, Guidance: Daily Trucking Lineups, Ensure Accuracy of Shipping and Related Documents, Maintenance of Tractors and Trailers. Essential Functions: Responsible to directly supervises forklift drivers, warehouse leader and truck drivers: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Includes training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; conflict resolution; team building; coaching and leading employees to improve; addressing complaints and resolving problems; documentation; and setting an example of superior behavior, attitude and performance. Responsible for making sure the shipping dispatcher is scheduling truck driver runs in the most cost-efficient and time-saving manner possible, Responsible to receive goods and materials in an efficient and well-coordinated manner, Responsible to manage and lead forklift operators in the daily routine of loading trucks neatly and to the customer’s complete satisfaction, Responsible to assist the Production Manager and all personnel in meeting customer requirements, Responsible to coordinate repairs of trucks, trailers, forklifts, dock plates, and dock doors, Responsible to coordinate with Customer Service the on-time delivery of customer orders, Responsible to keep the management team informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of the shipping team, Responsible to adhere to daily production schedule: Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals. Responsible to establish high morale within team by showing fairness and consistency, Responsible to maintain confidentiality, Responsible to develop strong rapport with various freight lines, Responsible to comply with company policies and procedures, Responsible for other duties as assigned, by supervisor. Required Skills/Abilities: Effective leadership skills, able to effectively manage and hold subordinates accountable, Effective verbal and written communication skills, Strong organizational skills, with strong attention to detail, Ability to establish & set priorities, with ability to adjust priorities, as deemed necessary, Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines, Problem resolution/analytical skills to maintain accuracy in maintaining records of large inventory counts, Team player, ready and willing to assist where and when needed at a moment’s notice, Able to successfully work in fast-paced environment. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required, Supervisory or leadership experience required, Shipping and Receiving experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred, Inventory management experience preferred, Operating System experience preferred, HRMS a bonus, Proficient in the use of MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) required.
