Position Summary : Under the direction of the Shipping Supervisor, the Shipping Driver & Dock Worker supports the logistics team to achieve operational excellence in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). By executing both plant-floor loading tasks and delivering orders to local and regional customers, this role ensures a seamless flow of finished goods from the shipping dock directly to the destination. The Shipping Driver & Dock Worker actively eliminates transit delays, maintains a highly organized dock area, ensures order accuracy, and supports on-time delivery fulfillment through hands-on participation in continuous improvement and safety initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Operates a company-owned box truck safely and efficiently to deliver regional customer orders of finished cabinetry and countertop supplies. Maintains a valid, clean standard driver’s license with an excellent driving record; complies fully with Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certificate requirements if applicable to the truck's weight rating. Conducts occasional runs to local and regional customers to deliver finished cabinetry, countertops, and related components safely and on time. Performs mandatory pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reports any maintenance or safety concerns promptly, and ensures the box truck remains clean and fueled. Maintains a clean, professional appearance and customer-focused attitude at all times while representing the company during deliveries. Pulls, stages, and loads orders within the Shipping Department accurately based on work orders and shipping tickets. Physically loads, unloads, stacks, and secures large, fragile kitchen cabinet assemblies and custom countertop orders into the box truck using straps to prevent transit damage. Maintains all inventory and raw materials on the dock in an organized, highly detailed, and easily searchable manner. Ensures staging areas, loading docks, and truck bays are kept completely clear of debris, scrap materials, and physical obstacles to eliminate safety hazards. Operates material handling equipment (such as forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks) safely on the dock and during offloading.
