The Transportation Coordinator supports smooth transportation operations by securing carrier coverage as needed and maintaining clear communication across partners. In addition to transportation responsibilities, this role serves as a backup to the DC Shipping Clerk position and provides hands-on support in warehouse activities throughout the distribution center such as shipping, receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, packing, sorting, labeling, or quality assurance, to help maintain overall operational flow. Work is performed in accordance with company policies and guidelines, using tools such as RF scanners, step ladders, conveyor systems, and sortation walls. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions) The Transportation Coordinator is a champion of Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently by performing the following duties and responsibilities of the position (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned): Performance Creates, maintains, and posts 10-week shipping schedule in Excel and S4 Coordinates between stores, transportation, pool locations, and distribution centers to ensure proper service levels Modifies schedule, as needed, to accommodate store physical inventory changes and/or special requests Secures coverage for dropped or added shipments using the supplied preferred carrier matrix Communicates potential schedule failures to the appropriate parties Proactively follows up as required to ensure desired service results Generates bills of lading as needed Provides back up support to Shipping Clerks Communicates schedule to distribution centers, carriers, and pools using Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Completes and sends Load Plans Weekly to carriers and completes carrier review corrections as needed Addresses and resolves tickets sent to the distribution center from stores with Ulta support tickets. Ensures Ulta Beauty’s driver check-in processes and procedures are followed Accurately picks and packs orders using established work practices Restocks picking bins with product brought from reserve storage based on warehouse management system reporting Accurately sorts, counts, and receives all merchandise Moves product to and from pallet racks with powered material handling equipment such as pallet jacks Works with conveyors to accurately build pallets of cartons to ship out Loads or unloads trucks, sorting and labeling product as needed Organizes warehouse storage space effectively Works in a clean and orderly manner at all times Uses a RF scanner/hand scanner to direct work (pick, pack, receive, move) Use of sortation walls and conveyor systems to complete daily tasks Meets safety, productivity, and quality standards Demonstrates flexibility in daily task assignments and performs other related duties as assigned People Establishes professional peer and brand partner relationships that foster a shared interest in collaboratively delivering exceptional guest service Maintains professional communication with drivers Uses basic interpersonal skills in accomplishing tasks Partnerin…
