About the Opportunity As our Traffic Coordinator , you'll play an essential role in keeping our shipping operations running smoothly and ensuring our products reach customers accurately, efficiently, and on time. You'll coordinate freight transportation, prepare shipping documentation, verify outgoing shipments, and work closely with carriers and internal teams to support a seamless shipping process. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities with hands-on coordination, solving problems, and making sure the details are right. What You'll Do Coordinate Shipping & Transportation Schedule and coordinate outgoing freight shipments with transportation providers. Determine appropriate shipping methods and routing to support timely, cost-effective deliveries. Communicate with freight carriers to arrange pickups, confirm shipment details, and resolve transportation questions. Ensure drivers receive accurate and complete shipping documentation before departure. Assist with freight-related inquiries, delivery coordination, and transportation challenges. Manage Shipping Documentation & Accuracy Prepare, review, and maintain bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and other required documentation. Verify outgoing shipments against customer orders and shipping records to ensure accuracy. Confirm shipment quantities, weights, measurements, and identifying information. Maintain accurate records of freight movements, destinations, shipment classifications, and transportation charges. Ensure shipping labels and identifying information are properly applied to cartons, pallets, and containers. Support Freight Pricing & Cost Management Review freight classifications, shipping rates, and transportation schedules. Calculate and document freight charges, including applicable storage, redelivery, or reconsignment fees. Review freight invoices and bills of lading for accuracy and potential overcharges. Prepare freight quotes and assist with identifying efficient transportation solutions. Collaborate & Keep Operations Moving Serve as a point of contact for shipping-related questions from carriers, customers, and internal departments. Work closely with Shipping, Scheduling, Customer Service, and other teams to support customer delivery expectations. Monitor and maintain necessary shipping supplies and documentation. Identify opportunities to improve shipping accuracy, efficiency, and communication. Follow established quality procedures and support Bay View Industries' Quality Management System.
