Shipping Coordinator
United Tel SupplyPosition Summary The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the timely and accurate shipment of products to customers. This position ensures orders are processed correctly, shipments are prepared and documented accurately, and products are delivered according to customer requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, and able to coordinate effectively with warehouse personnel, customers, carriers, vendors, and internal departments. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily outbound/inbound shipments of telecommunications and broadband equipment, materials, and supplies. Review customer orders and shipping requirements to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepare shipping documentation, packing lists, bills of lading, shipping labels, and other required paperwork. Schedule and coordinate pickups with common carriers, freight companies, parcel services, and local delivery providers. Verify quantities, product numbers, serial numbers, and shipment destinations before orders leave the facility. Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure orders are picked, packed, staged, and loaded correctly. Track shipments and proactively communicate delays, delivery issues, or discrepancies to customers and internal teams. Enter and maintain shipment information in the company's ERP(QuickBooks), warehouse management system, or shipping software. Process expedited, same-day, and special shipping requests as needed. Ensure proper packaging and handling of fiber-optic cable, networking equipment, telecommunications hardware, tools, and other materials. Assist with freight quoting and selecting appropriate shipping methods based on cost, urgency, size, weight, and customer requirements. Investigate lost, damaged, delayed, or misdirected shipments and coordinate resolution with carriers. Communicate with the receiving and inventory teams regarding shipment discrepancies and inventory issues. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of shipping, logistics, warehouse, distribution, or order fulfillment experience preferred. Experience in telecommunications, broadband, electrical, construction materials, or industrial distribution is a plus. Experience working with UPS, FedEx, LTL/FTL freight carriers, common carriers, or other transportation providers. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and experience with ERP/WMS or shipping systems. Ability to accurately enter and maintain data while handling multiple priorities. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently while also coordinating effectively with warehouse and operations teams. Ability to lift and move boxes and materials as required by the position.
