Shipping Clerk/Versatile Team Member

South River Miso is seeking a flexible and detail-oriented person to join our team. The primary role of this position is as our shipper. Our shipping needs fluctuate, and this position will also support other aspects of company operations. Key responsibilities : Prepare retail and wholesale order shipments Build distributor pallet orders for shipment Restock and organize product and packaging inventories Work with office staff to ensure a positive customer experience This position will also assist in the following areas, as shipping needs allow : Support the miso packing operation (filling glass jars and bulk) Assist the miso production crew, when needed Help with the harvesting of miso from fermentation vats Provide support to overall operations General Requirements : Open mind and good will Careful attention to detail Clear communication with other team members Ability to engage in sustained, active physical work, including lifting 50+ lbs Cleanliness and care with food safety protocols Prior shipping experience is helpful, but not required The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 3pm. All employees are offered paid time off and a seasonal share of organic vegetables from Natural Roots CSA. This is a seasonal position, from October thru May. South River Miso Company is a family-owned business founded in 1979 and currently employing 10 people. We are located on a beautiful farm property in the quiet countryside along the South River in Conway, Massachusetts. We produce nine varieties of certified organic, unpasteurized miso. South River Miso is a naturally fermented food handcrafted according to a centuries-old Japanese farmhouse tradition. It is made with the understanding that wholesome food, wisely used, can be our best medicine. Through online orders we ship miso to individuals throughout the United States. We also ship miso directly to stores and supply several regional organic food distributors.
