Shipping Clerk

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the accurate and efficient processing of shipments, ensuring timely delivery and optimal inventory management. Your expertise in warehouse operations, shipping logistics, and inventory control will contribute to seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction. Duties Coordinate and execute shipping and receiving activities using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems such as AS400 and MRPs. Prepare, package, and label orders accurately for shipment, ensuring compliance with trade regulations and international trade standards. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, stock, and organize inventory efficiently. Maintain precise records of shipments, inventory levels, and order statuses through data entry into inventory management software and Microsoft Office tools. Collaborate with warehouse staff to pick, pack, and process orders swiftly while adhering to quality standards. Ensure proper packaging for safe transportation of goods, including e-commerce orders and bulk shipments. Verify shipment documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with shipping & receiving protocols. Support warehouse distribution processes by managing stock levels, conducting cycle counts, and updating inventory records regularly. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized warehouse environment to promote safety and operational efficiency. Communicate effectively with carriers, customers, and internal teams to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve shipment issues promptly. Experience Prior experience working in a warehouse environment with a focus on shipping & receiving operations. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems like AS400 or MRP platforms. Hands-on experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment; forklift certification is preferred. Strong knowledge of shipping logistics including international trade regulations and trade compliance standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word for data entry and reporting purposes. Basic math skills for calculating weights, measurements, and quantities accurately. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting. Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and external partners.
