Position Overview: The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and processing outgoing shipments to ensure products are shipped accurately, efficiently, and on time. This position works closely with Customer Service and Yard Shipping personnel to maintain smooth communication regarding customer orders, shipment schedules, and delivery requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare, process, and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels. Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers and transportation providers. Verify shipping accuracy, including quantities, product specifications, and shipping destinations. Work closely with Customer Service to ensure customer orders are shipped according to requirements and deadlines. Communicate regularly with Yard Shipping employees to coordinate loading schedules and shipment readiness. Track shipments and provide updates regarding shipping status delivery information. Maintain accurate shipping records and enter shipment data into company systems. Negotiate rates and send rate confirmations via email. Assist with inventory verification and reconciliation as needed. Address and resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, or customer concerns in a timely manner. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Assist Yard Shipping employees with loading trucks, moving pipe from the staging area, and other tasks. Operate a forklift in a safe manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous shipping, logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing experience. Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to accurately complete shipping documentation and data entry. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to work collaboratively with Customer Service, Yard Shipping personnel, and other departments. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment. Previous forklift operation preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to multitask and adapt/respond to different situations. Strong phone contact handling skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and move items up to 50lbs. Ability to work in an office, warehouse, and outdoor yard environment as needed.
