Shipping Clerk

Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team. Responsibilities Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting, packing, and labeling products using order picking and packing procedures. Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, RF scanners, forklifts (certification preferred), and other tools to load and unload freight safely and efficiently. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, AS400, and inventory management software to track inventory levels, update records, and ensure data accuracy through diligent data entry. Coordinate with warehouse distribution teams to manage order fulfillment processes, including picking, packing, and staging shipments for dispatch. Verify shipping & receiving documentation, ensure compliance with trade regulations and international trade laws when applicable. Maintain accurate records of shipments using inventory management systems and generate reports on shipping logistics performance. Support inventory management by conducting stock counts, managing replenishments, and ensuring proper stocking procedures are followed. Assist in packaging products securely for transportation while adhering to safety standards and customer specifications. Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve shipping issues promptly and provide updates on order status. Ensure compliance with safety protocols during load & unload activities and maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics roles; prior experience as a Shipping Clerk is highly preferred. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems like AS400 or MRP platforms. Strong knowledge of shipping logistics, order fulfillment processes, and international trade regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel for reporting and data analysis. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for weighing packages, measuring dimensions, or calculating shipment costs. Experience operating warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, RF scanners, forklifts (certification preferred), and other handling tools. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members across departments and assist customers effectively. Knowledge of packaging standards, order picking techniques, stock management practices, and trade compliance regulations is a plus.
