Shipping Associate

Job Description: North American Seal & Supply is seeking a Shipping Associate to lead our shipping department for outbound shipments. Responsibilities: Verifies accuracy of items outgoing shipments by comparing counts, weights, measurements, and materials to verify information against packing slips, order travelers, or other documents Schedules shipments according to order instructions using carrier shipping modules Assembles shipping boxes or containers Picks and packs orders from inventory Inserts items into containers using spacers, fillers, and protective padding Affixes shipping labels and stages shipments for parcel and truck carriers, courier, or customer pickup using hand lift or fork lift as required Puts away stock items in appropriate inventory location Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies and requests restocks in a timely manner Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Certificate Valid driver’s license in good standing Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to walk, bend and climb stairs frequently Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time Basic computer skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as job instructions, safety rules, procedure manuals, and equipment operating instructions The ability to mathematically work in US standard and metric measurement systems Excellent attention to detail Ability to represent the company in a positive and professional manner when interacting with customers and vendors Previous experience with UPS and FedEx shipping modules a plus Fork lift certification not required but a plus Schedule: Full Time Monday- Friday 7:30am-4:00pm; Weekday overtime from 6:00am-4:30pm may be required as needed; Saturday overtime occasionally offered Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision benefits are offered beginning the first day of employment. Founded in 1981, NASS specializes in distribution of seals; stamping of gaskets; fabrication of light duty conveyor belt; fabrication of hose products; machining and welding of plastic sheet, rod, and tube; and the fabrication of high temperature fiberglass and ceramic cloth. NASS operates out of a single location in Valley View, Ohio and is currently staffed by 14 employees with an average tenure of 13 years.
