Shipping and Receiving Yard Worker

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Shipping and Receiving Yard Worker to join our logistics team. In this role, you will manage our outdoor yard and indoor warehouse spaces, coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments, and safely operate heavy machinery to move materials. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys physical work, and prioritizes safety above all else. Key Responsibilities Load and unload flatbeds, trailers, and delivery trucks using forklifts or by hand. Verify incoming shipments against bills of lading, packing slips, and purchase orders to ensure accuracy. Organize and maintain the yard and warehouse layout to optimize space and ensure quick retrieval of materials. Inspect incoming goods for damage or defects and report discrepancies immediately. Prepare outbound materials by wrapping, banding, staging, and securing loads for safe transit. Conduct inventory counts and maintain accurate digital or physical logs of stock movement. Keep the yard clean and free of debris, hazards, and obstructions to ensure a safe working environment. Qualifications & Skills Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, yard management, or warehouse logistics. Knowledge of concrete building materials is a plus Equipment: Experience with heavy-duty or outdoor rough-terrain forklifts is required. Forklift Certification is a plus Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. regularly and work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain). Attention to Detail: Strong ability to read shipping documents, match part numbers, and spot order discrepancies.
